Typical features of our innovative
brake and geared motor design are:
- high transmission ratio ranges
- many housing designs
- wide range of output shafts
- fractional to over 100 HP
- problem-free implementation to
meet special requirements - e.g. for operation at
high or low ambient temperatures, in the foodstuffs
industry, in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors, in
drinking water protection areas, etc.
- three motor types provide
endless possible combinations
- two brake sizes for each motor
frame size for the cylindrical-rotor motors and KB
sliding-rotor brake motors
- finely graded brake torques
for each motor frame size

The Demag geared motor range is
of modular design and mainly comprises helical geared motors,
angular geared motors, offset geared motors. We offer a choice
of cylindrical-rotor motors without an integral brake,
cylindrical-rotor brake motors and sliding-rotor brake motors.
In addition, there are many optional features such as PTC
thermistors, rotary encoders, brake release devices, special
lubricants, increased enclosures and much more - all
new and part of the matching modular system.
Demag foot and flange mounted brakemotors are adaptable for soft
starting or to deliver high starting torque with low inertia to
meet the demands of high cycling applications.

MICROSPEED
UNIT – The best
solution for wide speed ranges
The microspeed unit occupies a
special position between pole-changing motors and variable-speed
drive systems.
Microspeed units are a combination of two (or more) brake motors
linked by a mechanical gearbox. The brake of the main motor is
designed as a friction coupling, the brake of the creep motor
acting either directly or via the gearbox on the complete drive.
By using pole-changing, slip-ring or DC motors and even further
microspeed motors, a number of speeds or whole ranges of speeds
can be obtained.

INDRIVE - Integral
inverter/motor combination
The Indrive geared
motors have been specifically developed for starting and
stopping applications. This real four quadrant drive is
generally used in mechanical engineering and in materials
handling applications. The frequency inverter is integrated,
thus enabling this variable speed geared motor to support all
decentralised control concepts perfectly. Standard bus systems
such as Interbus and, in future, Profibus DP are available for
data transfer to higher-level control systems.

DEMAG INVERTERS - Tailored
to meet your requirements.
DEMAG frequency inverters feature
a variety of interfaces and are tailored to meet your variable
speed AC drive control requirements.
The combination of Demag brake motors with Demag inverters
provides maintenance-free drives with outstanding dynamics,
precision and safety. Materials handling drive applications are
a special feature of this drive system.
